BCWWA Launches 2027 Student Design Competition

Are you a senior undergraduate or graduate student in an environmental, civil, chemical engineering or a related field? Consider joining the 2027 BCWWA Student Design Competition! 

Each year, BCWWA invites post-secondary students from across British Columbia to apply their academic knowledge to a real-world water or wastewater challenge. Participants gain valuable hands-on experience while developing leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, expanding their professional networks and contributing innovative ideas to the water sector. 

We are proud to see our teams consistently excel in the WEFTEC Student Design Competition, with eleven top-three finishes since BCWWA first entered the international competition! 

For this year’s competition, we have partnered with the Comox Valley Regional District on an exciting project focused on developing a long-term biosolids management strategy through the evaluation of future dewatering technologies, resource recovery opportunities and emerging regulatory considerations.
