BCWWA Launches Inaugural Midnight Sun Water Stewardship Award

The BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) is pleased to announce the establishment of its Midnight Sun Water Stewardship Award, a new recognition celebrating the dedication, leadership and lasting contributions of water and wastewater operators in the Yukon Territory.

Developed in collaboration with BCWWA’s Yukon Workshop Planning Committee, the award honours the essential work of operators who keep northern water systems operating reliably despite the unique challenges of climate, geography and isolation. It recognizes individuals whose contributions extend beyond daily operations through leadership, mentorship and stewardship in the management and protection of drinking water, wastewater, and water infrastructure that Yukon communities depend upon.

The inaugural recipient will be announced at BCWWA’s 2026 Yukon Water & Wastewater Workshop & Trade Show, taking place at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon, on October 22, 2026.
