Technical Tours

We excited to announce a technical tour option for the 2026 Yukon Water & Wastewater Workshop & Trade Show! Technical tours are a fantastic way to tour facilities local to the venue and learn about new ideas and ventures related to the event.

Yukon University’s Mobile Water Treatment Plant

As part of the Yukon Workshop & Trade Show experience, attendees are invited to participate in a technical tour of Yukon University’s innovative Mobile Water Treatment Plant. To reserve your spot, please complete and submit the provided registration form. You will receive confirmation if a seat has been secured for you on the tour. If the tour reaches capacity, you will be notified and placed on a waitlist.

Note: This tour is optional with limited capacity. Advance registration is required to attend this tour. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. This tour is available exclusively to registered Yukon workshop delegates and attendees.

Tour Details

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026
Timing: 9:00 am – 11:45 am
Total Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes (includes transportation and facility tour)
Facility Tour: 2 hour 15 minutes
Location: Meet in the lobby of the event venue, Kwanlin Dün First Nation (1171 Front Street, Whitehorse). From there, participants will proceed to the designated bus pick-up area.

Safety Gear: Work boots or rain boots if wet outside, are recommended, no open toe or high heel shoes. Dress for the weather.

Yukon University’s Mobile Water Treatment Plant

As part of the Yukon Workshop & Trade Show experience, attendees are invited to participate in a technical tour of Yukon University’s innovative Mobile Water Treatment Plant.

During the tour, participants will learn how the mobile plant is used to train and certify water operators through hands-on experience in water treatment operations. The tour will showcase key aspects of plant operation, including system troubleshooting, daily operational checks, analyzer calibration, automation controls, and chemical dosing practices that help ensure safe and reliable drinking water for northern communities.

Attendees will also gain insight into water treatment processes, equipment operation, and the innovative training approaches being used to build operator capacity and support workforce development across the Yukon water sector.

This tour is designed for professionals and students in the water and wastewater industry and individuals interested in sustainable infrastructure and water treatment approaches.
