Keep Ice from Ruining Your Water Tank - Results Using Active Mixers

Description:Most people enjoy a little ice in their glass of water. However, large amounts of ice in a tank can spell disaster. Like an iceberg, a massive plug of ice can scrape the sides of a water tank as the water level fluctuates. If ladders and other tank internals become locked in the ice, the rise and fall of the ice cap can literally tear them apart. Complete freezing of the upper parts of a tank can stretch the walls, leading to coating failure and, in extreme cases, tank rupture.
