Continuing education for operators has been a core program of the BC Water & Waste Association since the organization’s inception in 1978. For more than four decades, we have been one of the largest and most trusted source of training in BC and the Yukon, preparing operators for certification exams, providing continuing education unit (CEU) credits, and helping operators advance their careers.

Want to progress your career as a water or wastewater operator? Take one of our certification preparation courses, online or in-class, ahead of a certification exam. To learn new skills and gain CEUs, complete one of our skills-specific elective in-class courses.

In light of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in B.C. and the subsequent health advisories from our government, we will, unfortunately, be cancelling our Spring Operator School, which was set to be held in Langley from May 4-15, 2020. Course registration credits will be kept on file and will be fully transferable to our fall classes and/or online classes for those who wish to re-register.  For those who require refunds, please refer to our current cancellation/refund policies and procedures below.

While we are saddened to be cancelling this course, our mandate is to “safeguard public health”. We take this mandate very seriously and will always prioritize the health and safety of our water community.

That being said, we are delighted to offer a variety of online courses that fulfill operator CEU requirements. For a full list of our current online courses (running until April 30, 2020), including course descriptions and registration information, click here.

Our next semester of online courses is set to begin May 4th, 2020. We will be opening registration for our May online courses shortly and are also looking at possible dates and locations for our Fall 2020 Operator Schools – please refer to for all course information and updates.

For any immediate questions or concerns pertaining to educational offerings, please contact Jelena Ninkovic at

If you have any questions relating to exams, we’d like to remind you that exams are offered by EOCP, therefore, please contact EOCP directly for all exam-related questions or concerns.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincerest gratitude to our water community for your patience and understanding throughout this time. We look forward to connecting with you online and through future courses and events.
