WEF Launches Water Leadership Institute Website

The Water Leadership Institute (WLI), a program of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) designed to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional commitment from future leaders of the water quality sector, has launched a new website to accept applications for its 2012 program.

We encourage water, wastewater and stormwater professionals to apply for the program before the submission deadline on January 15, 2012.

Government of Canada Invites Partners to Join in Developing a Long-Term Infrastructure Plan

Ottawa, Ontario, November 30, 2011 – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Region of Quebec, today launched the formal engagement process that will bring together the Government of Canada, provinces, territories, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and others to develop a new long-term plan for public infrastructure beyond the expiry of the Building Canada Plan in 2014.

BCWORKS Campaign Website Launched

BC Parks and Public Works Group was established in 2009 to address human resource issues faced by the Parks and Public Works sector in British Columbia. The group currently includes representation from the Local Government Management Association, BC Public Works Association, BCWWA, BC Municipal Safety Association, BC First Nations, BC Recreation and Parks Association and a number of munipalities.
