Now accepting applications for the 2019 Student Design Competition

Are you a senior student in an environmental, civic, chemical engineering or related field that is interested in pursuing a career in the water and wastewater sector?

We are now accepting applications for the 2019 BCWWA Student Design Competition (SDC), a great opportunity for students to gain "real world" experience preparing and presenting solutions to wastewater issues here in BC.

This year, the students will have the opportunity to work with the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to address the problem statement related to the collection and treatment of wastewater from de-icing operations.

The BCWWA SDC is based on the Water Environment Federation (WEF) SDC, held annually at the WEF Technical Exhibition & Conference (WEFTEC).

The winning team will present at the BCWWA Annual Conference & Trade Show May 26-28, 2019 in Victoria and then compete at the WEFTEC in Chicago September 21-25, 2019. Both events are designed to showcase student talent and provide excellent exposure to potential industry employers.

For the detailed problem statement, competition guidelines, team application form, and other important information, visit the Student Design Competition page.

The deadline to submit your application is December 15, 2018.
