BC Water and Wastewater Sector Workforce Profile - Executive Summary

Description:The BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) and the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) have worked together to develop the first comprehensive profile of BC’s water and wastewater sector workforce. Independent research firm, R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. (Malatest), was contracted to survey public and private sector organizations operating medium to large water and wastewater collection, treatment and distribution facilities in BC. The research examined workforce demographics, compensation, training and certification, hiring needs and more. The resulting BC Water and Wastewater Sector Profile provides robust regional data to effectively forecast labour supply and demand to ensure there is a sustainable, competent workforce that is capable of protecting public health and the environment, now and in the future.
