Aquifer Storage Recovery Englishman River Water Service City of Parksville / Regional District of Nanaimo

Description:Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) is a relatively new technology that is intended to manage peak demands and reduce overall demand on water treatment plants. The project will facilitate excess water from the Englishman River to flow through the treatment plant, and into wells in the wet season. In the summer months, water will be withdrawn from the wells and pumped into the distribution system. The project is the first of its' kind in BC and just the second in Canada.
