This webinar provided details on current and upcoming infrastructure funding programs with a focus on drinking water, wastewater, asset management, community preparedness, flood, and wildfire. Watch it back to learn more about the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program, a 10-year joint federal-provincial infrastructure programs that established funding programs to support capital projects. The webinar included a question and answer session with the program administrators.

Meet the Speakers

Brian Bedford, Director Local Government Infrastructure and Engineering, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing

Brian is Director, Local Government Infrastructure and Engineering, with the BC Ministry of Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Brian has a background in environmental science and a focus on sustainable infrastructure. His role with the Province, for the past 10 years, is administering infrastructure funding programs for BC local governments, encouraging innovative infrastructure solutions and supporting the development asset management and sustainable service delivery. Brian is a founding member and active participant with Asset Management BC.

Glen has been a ‘sustainability’ advocate for the past 20 years, working with the Province and now with the Union of BC Municipalities as General Manager, Victoria Operations. With UBCM, Glen oversees all aspects of the Victoria office operations, including the delivery of various funding programs, including the Gas Tax Fund and various programs under Local Government Program Services. His focus has been on supporting local government in their efforts to deliver services and manage infrastructure sustainably by building awareness, educating and developing tools and resources. Glen is a strong advocate for asset management, facilitating the establishment of Asset Management BC in 2008 and led the development of the Asset Management for Sustainable Service Delivery: A BC Framework to support asset management commitments under the BC Gas Tax Agreement.
