SCADA: The Next Generation

The BCWWA SCADA and IT Committee will hold its 2 day SCADA & IT Workshop on November 21, and 22, 2017.

As the result of the success of our previous SCADA & IT workshop held at the Richmond Radisson Hotel Conference Centre in November 2015, we are responding to an overwhelming request to hold our next Workshop themed “SCADA: The Next Generation” at the same venue!

Since many municipalities already own and operate a SCADA system, how has it been leveraged?  What makes SCADA tick?  What are the basic components of a SCADA system? Does management realize the potential in this enabling technology infrastructure?  What are other Municipalities (by size) doing with their SCADA system?  Are you a small community interested in SCADA? Is your SCADA system as secure as you think?  Are there ways to improve on your SCADA system through the application of new SCADA technologies…. YOU BET!

This SCADA & IT Workshop will discuss the basics of leveraging your SCADA system, available technologies used today and in the future, security and productivity tools associated with SCADA systems.

Our Keynote Speaker Peter Bentley who heads up OSIsoft’s Global IoT Ecosphere and Initiatives will also be presenting on Internet of Things (IOT), what is it and what does this mean for SCADA and the future.

Additionally, there will be a Manufacturers, Suppliers and Consultants display area complete with food and refreshments.  DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!

Technology & Water Management

Water is a fundamental building block of life on this planet. It has been and will continue to be a highly charged topic replete with complexity and a persistent need for adaptation and responsible stewardship. Water management has its own challenges;  operationally, technically, and politically. We will examine how current and upcoming technologies including edge computing, the Internet of Things and Big Data impact water management today and into the future.
