Reporting to the General Manager, Engineering, the Manager, Utilities is responsible for the administration, leadership and operations of the utilities division and serves as a member of the City’s engineering management team in the development and implementation of council policies and projects. This position oversees the city’s municipal utility infrastructure, including: District Energy; Sewer; Water; Drainage & Environment; and is responsible for setting the Division’s vision, direction and priorities to support current and emerging infrastructure needs.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil or municipal engineering from a recognized university supplemented by at least 7 years’ management experience. The successful candidate will be registered with or eligible to register with the Engineers & Geoscientists of BC. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the principles, methods, and practices of utility planning, construction and engineering, within a dynamic municipal setting. The role requires high emotional intelligence; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills; and effective problem- solving abilities.
