We have an immediate opening for the temporary, full-time position of Engineering Technician – Utilities to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will have a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Water Science Technology or a related field from an accredited technical institute and a valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Working knowledge of municipal water supply systems and/or experience with a water utility will be considered an asset.

You have working knowledge of land surveying and engineering practices and procedures. You are skilled in the use of GIS and are experienced working with ArcGIS. You have superior customer service skills and can effectively respond to public enquiries. You are well versed in the collection, interpretation and maintenance of computer-based records and can sensitively manage private information.

Reporting to the Manager, Water Distribution, the Engineering Technician – Utilities conducts field surveys and inspections, and assists with the development, implementation and operation of water programs.
