Who's Your Partner in a Utility Emergency

Description:BCWWA’s Utility Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee Water and wastewater utilities provide critical services that safeguard public health and the environment, and these services must be maintained even in the event of a disaster. Both the Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA) encourage water and wastewater security and emergency management programs, yet these areas were not being advocated in BC in a coordinated way – until now. Welcome to BCWWA’s new Utility Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee. The committee’s purpose is to promote, develop a culture for, and provide resources on emergency management – including preparation, mitigation, response and recovery – to utility managers and operators within the water and wastewater sectors.
