Romeo Bicego
Romeo has over 20 years of work experience with the City of Vancouver's Sewer Department and currently is the Superintendent of Commercial Constructions. He has been certified by the Justice Institute of BC in Confined Space & Rescue. Romeo brings a unique teaching style with hands on infrastructure construction experience, along with progressively responsible management skills in a large unionized workplace. He has been an instructor for BCWWA since 2008.

Shantelle holds a Level IV Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate, she attended Kelowna's OUC where she obtained a Water Quality Technology Diploma. Shantelle had been a member of the Association since 2001.

Norm Clarkson
Norm has worked as a Health Inspector for 33 years in New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Alberni, and Nelson before moving to Vernon as the Chief Inspector for the North Okanagan and Shuswap. After regionalization of the Public Health services, Norm took on the role of Manager for the Health Protection Services for the Okanagan service area. Norm's primary interest has always been with the community water systems, and so he has participated on most of the Ministry of Health focus groups on water quality issues and legislation. Norm is currently semi-retired, and living in Vernon. Norm has been a member of BCWWA since 1987.

Ron Craig
Ron has experience in Environmental Health and Drinking Water for 36 years around the province; in Campbell River, Fernie, Prince George and Terrace. His knowledge in both management and field work has always been with community and smaller water systems. He has been representing Northern Health drinking water with the BC Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport until recently, and has engaged in provincial water quality issues and legislation. Ron consults on a variety of drinking water projects and provides presentations, based from his home in Terrace.

Darcy Dragonetti
Darcy is currently the City of Vancouver's Superintendent of Construction Water Operations. Darcy has been a member of the BCWWA since 1994 and has been an instructor for the same. Darcy has his Civil and Structural Engineering Diploma of Technology Program from BCIT.

Ron Enns
Ron is employed with the City of Vancouver, Engineering, Sewer Operations Branch and is a Trench Safety & Shoring instructor and program developer. Ron's experience started in 2002 as a laborer in sewer construction and learned from experienced workers to construct hand timber shoring. During this time Ron also pursued a secondary education to compliment his work experience. Over the years he has taken an active roll in safety for the Underground Utility Construction Sector. Ron has helped develop and produce an Excavation Safety video and has become a member of an Urban Search and Rescue Team deployable locally and internationally.

Todd Etherington
Todd started his career in the water industry in 1998 with the District of West Vancouver. In 2005 he and his family moved to Vancouver Island where he is now an operator with the Cowichan Valley Regional Districts Water Management Division. Todd holds certification in water distribution, water treatment, wastewater collection, chlorine handling and is a cross connection control tester.

Graeme Faris
Graeme has been a member of BCWWA and WEF since graduating from Malaspina College in 1976. Recently retired from a 33 year career in local government, he held positions that ranged from wastewater treatment plant operator to chief administrative officer. Graeme has returned to the field of operator training bringing with him a unique perspective on operations, management and communications. During his working career he held a Class IV wastewater treatment and a Class II wastewater collection certificate and was an active member of the EOCP, ABC and the Operations Division of the Water Environment Federation as well as the BCWWA education committee for which he instructed schools throughout BC and the Yukon.

George Foley
George has worked in the water and wastewater industry for over 37 years, first with the Town of Sidney installing water and wastewater services, then assuming operation and maintenance of the wastewater lift stations. When the town built a wastewater treatment plant he became the operator. When the Capitol Regional District assumed control of the plant George moved to the district, working in the Core Area collection system and Hartland Leachate system, then on to Pender Island as Utilities Foreman of Magic Lake Utilities. Then back to Victoria as the Supervisor of Wastewater Treatment and Transmission. He was then appointed Operations Manager of the districts Environmental Services Division. George holds certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment.

Tim Forty
Tim Forty graduated from UBC in 1967 with a B. App. Sc. Metallurgical Engineering. Tim is a Professional Engineer registered in the Province of British Columbia. In 1975, he began work in the Lower Mainland Office of the then Pollution Control Branch. In 1980, Tim received a promotion to Assistant Regional Manager/Section Head (Municipal Section), a position he retained until he retired in March 2002. In addition to that position he was a team member of the OK WATER Project which worked closely with municipalities throughout Okanagan to develop and implement Liquid Waste Management Plans. In 1999 Tim was relocated to Kamloops as Section Head for the entire Southern Interior Region. He brought his skills in developing and implementing LWMP's in the Kamloops area. He has since used his knowledge to assist him in enhancing the Wastewater Level II/III training course which he now instructs on behalf of BCWWA. Tim also constructs a "How to" course for those involved in, affected by, or just interested in Liquid Waste Management Planning.

Don Gare
Don has worked in the water and wastewater industry for over thirty years, starting in Terrace; and currently is the Utilities Supervisor for the Sunshine Coast Regional District in Sechelt. He is a certified operator in water and wastewater. Don has been mentoring and teaching operators for many years. He served as a director on the Environmental Operators Certification Board for over fifteen years and has been developing courses and instructing for the BCWWA for the past five years.

Jock Hawkey
Jock currently instructs the following courses for BCWWA Chlorine Handling, Small Water Systems, Small Wastewater Systems, Wastewater Treatment I, and Water Treatment I. Jock has been instructing courses for BCWWA since 1991. He graduated from BCIT in 1972 and has been involved in the water and waste water industry ever since. Jock currently operates Caro Environmental Services which is a water and waste water laboratory in Kelowna.

Trevor is a Cross Connection Control Specialist providing consulting services, backflow prevention program development and personnel training for the water utility industry. Trevor is a recent instructor for BCWWA and has been a member since 2003.

Eric Jackson
Eric has 38 years experience in water and wastewater management at the local, provincial and consulting levels. He has been teaching water and wastewater courses for BCWWA since early 2003. He has been a director of EOCP for the past 25 years.

Eric Johnson
Eric became involved with the BCWWA School Committee in the early 1980s and he has been instructing courses since then. Presently, he instructs Water Distribution I & II and Small Water Systems.
Eric has worked in the water and wastewater industry since 1965. He worked for the City of Surrey for 35 years maintaining pumps, control valves and meters. He is currently employed as a service technician for a company that supplies equipment to water and wastewater systems.

Will Jolley
Will Jolley is a Civil Engineering Technologist with over 30 years of experience in the Dam Safety Field. He is currently the Dam Safety Section Head in the Water Stewardship Division, Ministry of Environment. He is a member of the Canadian Dam Association and is a past Chairman of the CDA Regulators Committee. He has been an instructor with BCWWA since 2002 and has conducted many Dam Inspection & Maintenance Workshops in numerous communities in BC and the Yukon.

Kim has over 7 years of municipal safety experience and is currently the Superintendent of OH&S for Engineering at the City of Vancouver. She is a graduate from BCIT's OH&S Diploma Program and holds 3 professional designations: Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) and Canadian Risk Manager (CRM). Kim has been teaching for BCWWA since 2007 and also does course development for the association.

Bernie Morris
Bernie has been in the water industry since 1969 and has instructed for the BCWWA for the last 10 years, he graduated from Malaspina College Water and Wastewater Treatment courses in 1976. Bernie holds tickets in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Water Distribution, Cross Connection and he also holds a British Columbia Class 3 Stationary Engineer's Ticket.

Nelson Porter
Nelson has been an instructor for BCWWA for the last seven years. He helped adopt PowerPoint for instructional use and has developed the practical Pump course, Computer Applications for Public Works, SCADA for Operators, and the online Small Water System. Nelson also helped with the upgrades of the Wastewater Collection level I, II, and III. Nelson has attended four train the trainer sessions and has really starting to enjoy teaching. Nelson is the Superintendent of Sewers for the City of Burnaby.

Shawn Sanders
Shawn lives in the Okanagan, and works as a water industry consultant setting up backflow prevention programs, training and developing software. Shawn has been in the water industry since 1980 and has been instructing since 1985, he has been training for BCWWA since 1994.

Dean Scovill
Since the late 1990s, Dean Scovill has specialized in drinking water systems. He is a certified Public Health Inspector and works for the Fraser Health Authority Drinking Water team. One of Dean's passions is to share his knowledge and experiences with students pursuing water training courses with BCWWA. Students appreciate his ease of explanations of course material, especially when it comes to math problems. His use of real life situations helps students fully understand what they need to know. One of the highlights of the Water Treatment I and Water Distribution I courses is a tour of a water treatment plant that Dean organizes. Dean also instructs course on Small Water Systems, Managing Small Water Systems and Small Wastewater Systems.

Mike Skulsky
Mike has been a member of BCWWA Since 1994 and has been affiliated since 1973. Mike holds certificates in Water Distribution level II and Wastewater Collection level I. Mike instructs the Small Water Systems course. Mike is involved in "hands-on" operation of municipal systems throughout BC for past 30 years
and for the last 15 years as "circuit rider" under contract to Sumas First Nations tutoring operators on various facets of "their" systems.

Alistair Wardlaw
Alistair has a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from BCIT and holds EOCP certification in level IV Water Treatment and level III Water Distribution. He has been involved in municipal and regional water utility treatment operations for over 15 years and has been a member of BCWWA since 1990. He is presently employed by the GVRD as Operations Supervisor for the Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant. Alistiar instructs the Water Treatment level I & II courses and has been an instructor for BCWWA since 2002.

Bill Warning
Bill graduated with a B.Sc. as well as a Chemical Technologist Degree and worked in the analytical chemistry industry for over 35 years. He has recently retired from managing environmental and analytical labs in B.C., which tested water and waste water for their clients. Since 2004, Bill has been very involved in the running and set up of small water systems in the Gulf Islands. He has recently started instructing the Small Water System course for BCWWA.
