Annual Conference and Exhibition
The largest gathering of professional in BC devoted solely to the water and
waste fields, this four-day event brings together several hundred individuals
to hear technical presentations, review the latest products, and network
with associates.
Committee Involvement
BCWWA committee members form the working nucleus of the Association. They
organize local symposia, seminars, and workshops, and produce position papers
on important issues. Members of AWWA and WEF are
eligible to serve on international committees and work on larger global issues
with professionals from all over the world.
Technical Seminars
BCWWA organizes policy and technical seminars throughout BC and the Yukon each
year, including one and two day events and teleconferences.
Operator Education and Training
BCWWA offers opportunities to earn CEUs, (awarded by the Environmental Operators
Certification Program) through training sessions and jointly sponsored workshops
and seminars throughout BC and the Yukon. Training is provided in areas
with high demand, and where specific requests are made. Many courses
have been modified to suit the needs of communities, while others follow
a strict format to ensure students receive the appropriate training to write
certification exams. Courses are also offered
at the Operator Symposium and Tradeshow held every May at the University
of British Columbia.
Watermark
A quarterly magazine featuring a calendar of events, product listings, new
member listings, employment opportunities, informative articles, and reports
on the Annual Conference, technical seminars and symposia.
Peer Recognition
BCWWA presents annual scholarships and bursaries to college and university
students, and recognizes outstanding contributions to the industry at its
Annual Conference and Exhibition.
Financial Savings
Reduced conference and seminar fees, and deep discounts on technical literature
and promotions.
Online Support
The BCWWA website offers members access to technical forums, industry and Association
updates and breakthroughs, and links to its committees and subcommittees. AWWA
and WEF members have further networking opportunities and online support
through their parent organization websites.

Lower Mainland Water & Sewer Supervisor's Association (LMWSSA), Environmental
Operators Certification Program (EOCP), American Society of Plumbing Engineers
(ASPE), Water Supply Association of BC (WSABC), Canadian Water & Wastewater
Association (CWWA), and Northwest Chapter North American Society for Trenchless
Technology (NASTT).

BCWWA members have found that the most effective way to stay fully abreast
of industry developments is through membership in our parent organizations,
the American Water Works Association (AWWA) or the Water Environment Federation
(WEF).
