Member Services/Benefits

Annual Conference and Exhibition
The largest gathering of professional in BC devoted solely to the water and waste fields, this four-day event brings together several hundred individuals to hear technical presentations, review the latest products, and network with associates.

Committee Involvement
BCWWA committee members form the working nucleus of the Association.  They organize local symposia, seminars, and workshops, and produce position papers on important issues.  Members of AWWA and WEF are eligible to serve on international committees and work on larger global issues with professionals from all over the world.

Technical Seminars
BCWWA organizes policy and technical seminars throughout BC and the Yukon each year, including one and two day events and teleconferences.

Operator Education and Training
BCWWA offers opportunities to earn CEUs, (awarded by the Environmental Operators Certification Program) through training sessions and jointly sponsored workshops and seminars throughout BC and the Yukon.  Training is provided in areas with high demand, and where specific requests are made.  Many courses have been modified to suit the needs of communities, while others follow a strict format to ensure students receive the appropriate training to write certification exams.  Courses are also offered at the Operator Symposium and Tradeshow held every May at the University of British Columbia.

Watermark
A quarterly magazine featuring a calendar of events, product listings, new member listings, employment opportunities, informative articles, and reports on the Annual Conference, technical seminars and symposia.

Peer Recognition
BCWWA presents annual scholarships and bursaries to college and university students, and recognizes outstanding contributions to the industry at its Annual Conference and Exhibition.

Financial Savings
Reduced conference and seminar fees, and deep discounts on technical literature and promotions.

Online Support
The BCWWA website offers members access to technical forums, industry and Association updates and breakthroughs, and links to its committees and subcommittees.  AWWA and WEF members have further networking opportunities and online support through their parent organization websites.

Affiliated Organizations
Lower Mainland Water & Sewer Supervisor's Association (LMWSSA), Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP), American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE), Water Supply Association of BC (WSABC), Canadian Water & Wastewater Association (CWWA), and Northwest Chapter North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT).

Parent Organizations
BCWWA members have found that the most effective way to stay fully abreast of industry developments is through membership in our parent organizations, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) or the Water Environment Federation (WEF).
