
Training and Education Coordinator
The British Columbia Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) promotes the safeguarding of public health and the environment through the sharing of skills, knowledge and experience in the water and wastewater industry. BCWWA provides training and education to water, wastewater and small water systems operators throughout British Columbia, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. We are currently looking for a Training and Education Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of BCWWA courses.
Job duties:
- Scheduling operator education courses
- Maintaining and updating the course calendar
- Maintaining course material and equipment inventory
- Overseeing all aspects of course registration including database entry, payment processing and response to registrant inquiries
- Delivering course materials and equipment to instructors in a timely manner
- Liaising with course instructors to confirm their availability
- Processing instructor expenses for reimbursement
- Liaising with cities and utilities to establish their training needs
- Responding to and budgeting for course requests and scheduled courses
- Liaising directly with the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP)
Job requirements and minimum qualifications:
- Completion of university or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Computer skills, including a good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- General administrative and organizational skills
- High standard of customer service and telephone etiquette
- Interpersonal skills and experience dealing with outside consultants, contractors and the public
- Ability to manage to a busy schedule of deadlines
- Previous work experience in an administrative position
- Experience with inventory tracking and maintenance, as well as with processing financial transactions and documents
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours required: 37.5 hours per week (permanent, full-time position)
