Chief Operator – STP
Reporting to the Works Superintendent, the Chief Operator will carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Town’s Sewage Treatment Plant facilities, direct and supervise the work of the STP Operators, labourers and others involved in the operation and maintenance of the facilities, and ensure that the STP is operated and maintained in compliance with the requirements outlined in the Town’s operational certificates, government legislation and WorkSafeBC regulations.
Qualifications include a post-secondary diploma relating to water and wastewater treatment (minimum MWWT Level III); preferably a Water Distribution Level II; and considerable related experience, including supervisory/leadership courses or the ability to obtain and the ability to assist in planning and budgeting. Qualified applicants will have experience supervising work crews, possess excellent communication, interpersonal, team building and organizational skills, and proven ability to maintain positive working relationships with Town staff, the public, local businesses, and industries.
