Guidance Document for Determining Ground Water at Risk of Containing Pathogens (GARP), Version 2

Description:The Guidance Document for Determining Ground Water at Risk of Containing Pathogens (GARP) was developed to assist water suppliers and regulatory authorities with assessing the level of potential risk that a ground water source may become, or may already be, contaminated by pathogens. This document helps to establish a scientifically defensible basis for the discussion, planning and resolution of public health-related concerns. The implementation of the information and procedure presented in this document should not be taken as equivalent to provincial or local legislation or standards, rather, it is intended to inform regulatory decisions. Consequently, regulatory authorities should be consulted prior to the site-specific use of this document.
