Protecting and Utilizing SCADA During Emergency Situations

Description:SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems are utilized throughout the water and wastewater industry to monitor and control water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment infrastructure. This presentation will discuss some of the common steps, which can be taken to safeguard a SCADA system from failure when it is needed most. Common failure points will be identified along with possible mitigations. Additionally the use of SCADA as a tool in an Emergency Operations Centre will be discussed to provide rationale for integrating SCADA systems with emergency preparedness and response planning.
