Developing a sustainable source of high quality groundwater for the Okanagan Sockeye Hatchery

Description:In 2014, the Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) together with its project partners will commission the Okanagan Sockeye fish hatchery in Penticton, B.C. that is the culmination of nearly a decade of planning intended to reintroduce Sockeye to the lakes above Okanagan Falls. In 2006, ONA commissioned a feasibility study to evaluate two candidate sites for a permanent hatchery and determined that a site near Penticton was preferred.
