BCWWA Operator Education Committee

The Operator Education Committee supports training and knowledge transfer opportunities throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. Currently, we offer over 25 courses from one-day workshops to week-long courses in all areas of water and wastewater.

Current Courses and online registration.

In 2006 we offered 80 courses to 1060 students in locations throughout B.C. and the Yukon. We also responded to requests for training from the Northwest Territories and the Atlantic Canada Water Works Association.

The Operator Education Committee works closely with the Environmental Operators Certification Program by providing operators the opportunity to write certification examinations at our training courses. Our courses offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to assist operators in meeting continuing educational requirements and for higher levels of certification.

We liaise with the Lower Mainland Water and Sewers Supervisor's Association, and we have been working with the Ministries of Health, Municipal Affairs, and Environment to provide programming that will meet a whole range of training needs.  We are regularly looking to partner with other organizations to ensure our members' needs for training and knowledge transfer are met.
