BCWWA Operator Education Committee
The Operator Education Committee supports training and knowledge transfer opportunities throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. Currently, we offer over 25 courses from one-day workshops to week-long courses in all areas of water and wastewater.
Current Courses and online registration.
In 2006 we offered 80 courses to 1060 students in locations throughout B.C. and the Yukon. We also responded to requests for training from the Northwest Territories and the Atlantic Canada Water Works Association.
We liaise with the Lower Mainland Water and Sewers Supervisor's Association, and we have been working with the Ministries of Health, Municipal Affairs, and Environment to provide programming that will meet a whole range of training needs. We are regularly looking to partner with other organizations to ensure our members' needs for training and knowledge transfer are met.
How Can You Be Involved?
- If you are interested in holding a course in your local area:
Send us an email listing the course, how many will participate, and whether you have a venue or place for the course. - Send us ideas for courses! What could you use some help with in training or knowledge exchange?
- Email us pictures. We are looking for images that display parts of good systems or that present something that should be changed, for our series, "What's Wrong With This Picture?". (We are creating a library of images!)
