Stanley Park, BC

August 2000

On August 2, 2000, the Vancouver/Richmond Health Board released a Boil Water Advisory due to presence of fecal coliforms for Stanley Park stating that it was essential that in the preparation of foods, no water from the normal tap system was to be used unless it was first boiled for 2 minutes. In addition, any beverage or other machines with a plumbed-in water supply were not to be used. The alert was distrubuted to all facilites within the park including Park Board Concessions, Ferguson Point Teahouse, Vancouver Aquarium, Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, and the Chevron and Petro Canada Barges.
