POSITION SUMMARY:
The Water and Wastewater Operator Level II is responsible for performing the physical tasks related to the installation and operation of the water distribution, water treatment, and wastewater collection systems. The Water and Wastewater Operator Level II is also responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing of WFN owned utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • One year of recent experience in operating a Level II Water System.
  • Minimum EOCP Level II certification in Water Distribution
  • Minimum EOCP Level II certification in Water Treatment
  • Minimum EOCP Level II certification in Wastewater Collection
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with quality management systems is an asset
  • Must maintain and upgrade certifications as required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn other software systems as required
  • Ability to collect, understand, and report data is critical
  • Writing skills are essential
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with an Acceptable Driver’s Abstract will be required upon offer
  • Able to meet physical demands of the position
  • Being part of the rotating on-call schedule is required for the position; this includes responding to after-hours calls within a 20 minute response time and taking corrective action as required

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate excellent customer service skills in order to ensure client satisfaction and maintain positive relationships with both internal & external stakeholders. The candidate's customer service orientation will be supplemented with highly developed oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy.

This position requires excellent planning and organization skills as well as the ability to apply knowledge and problem-solving skills in a timely manner to respond to issues. The successful candidate will work effectively within a team dynamic as well as with minimal supervision.
