Volunteer Opportunities

BCWWA is looking for volunteers to help out at some key points during the 2009 Conference & Trade Show in Penticton. Volunteers are especially needed in the following areas: Golf Classic, Registration Desk and Lakeside Hotel (host position).

Please select two-hour shifts when you fill out the Volunteer Sign-Up Form.

Volunteer Duties

 
Golf Classic
Date: Saturday April 25
Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm; 4 hour shifts or all day
# Volunteers: 4
Activities:
  • Assist with registration and hand out golfer gifts.
  • Supervise golf holes with special events (act as a 'spotter').
  • Enjoy a day in sunny Penticton!
Extras: Lunch and Refreshments provided.
 
Registration Desk
Date: Sunday April 26, Monday April 27, Tuesday April 28
Time: 8am - 6pm each day; 2 hour shifts
# Volunteers: 6 per day
Activities:
  • Assist BCWWA staff with distributing registration packages, conference materials and attendee gifts to delegates.
  • Answer general inquiries about Conference activities.
Extras:

Basic training will be provided!

You will receive a "Conference Staff" polo shirt.

 
Lakeside Hotel 'Host'
Date: Monday April 27, Tuesday April 28
Time: 8am - 12pm and 1pm - 5pm each day; 2 or 4 hour shifts
# Volunteers: 4 per day
Activities:
  • Answer questions about event schedules, venues, shuttle buses, etc.
  • Direct attendees to information and events as required.
  • Liase with BCWWA staff at the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre as necessary.
Extras:

Basic training will be provided!

You will receive a "Conference Staff" polo shirt.

Operators Program
Date: Sunday April 26, Monday April 27
Time: 6pm - 10pm each day; 2 or 4 hour shifts
# Volunteers: 2 per day
Activities:
  • Assist the Operators Program Chair.
  • Help to set up, take down and run the Operators Challenge Events (Large and Small pump teardowns and Top Ops).
  • Assist with record keeping.
Extras:

Basic training will be provided.

You will receive an 'Operators Challenge' polo shirt.
