Small Water Systems Symposium

The Small Water Systems Committee is pleased to invite all those concerned with small water systems to attend the BCWWA Annual Conference & Trade Show. This is a great opportunity to learn about new developments in the industry and to make useful contacts with others.

We will again offer a special one-day Small Water Systems package at a reduced SWS Conference rate to encourage participation. The Small Water Systems package will begin Sunday at 4:00 pm with the Conference Opening Ceremonies and end Monday at 4:25 pm, although you are welcome to attend the Trade Show Monday evening. This package is designed to keep time commitments and costs to a level suited to small systems owners and operators. This package includes a special Small Water Symposium Monday afternoon with focused presentations and a roundtable forum question and answer time. This will be an opportunity to pose questions to and exchange dialogue with senior Drinking Water Officers and ministry representatives about the topics that concern you and your small water system.

6:15 pm (Approx.)	SWS Meet and Greet: network with other Small Water Systems owners and operators and the BCWWA SWS committee
6:30 pm onwards	Manufacturers, Suppliers and Consultants Trade Show with food and refreshments. Enjoy one of the largest trade shows in BC and meet suppliers of all types of materials and equipment with on site equipment displays and demonstration

	Afternoon SWS Symposium
1:35 pm – 2:10 pm	Opening remarks, introduction of the Committee, Achievements of the Past Year and Presentation of SWS Award
2:15 pm – 2:50 pm	Roundtable discussion amongst attendees. The intent of the roundtable is to make contacts and to develop questions to be posed to the panel members in the following Open Forum session.
3:10 pm – 3:45 pm	Open Forum (panel of senior DWOs and representatives from the MoH, MoCS, MoE and SWS Committee)
3:50 pm – 4:25 pm	Systems Considerations for Dosing Sodium Hypochlorite – Presented by Walter Schajncha P.Eng. If this technical session is moved to the morning session, there will be a showing of “Making it Safe”, an animated video from New Zealand covering most aspects of water treatment for small water systems.
4:30 pm – 7:30 pm	Manufacturers, Suppliers and Consultants Trade Show
